I think that's the most useful tool since years, and I wonder why there
was nobody else but me to code this...
Well, it's too late, this is now patented software.
You need memory? You got the CPU power to render 2400x2000 pictures in 2minutes,
but still need more memory? Then this is something for you.
'MagicMemory' (tm) is something like XPK but for memory. It packs your memory
with a very efficient algorithm. Faaaaaast. It then pretends that
there's memory at a specific location. When software accesses this memory it'll be
unpacked. Your applications won't notice this in any way.
'MagicMemory' (tm) only needs a tiny amount of 'real' memory (the exact amount
depends on your specific configuration). That's the difference to VMM. VMM needs
as many MB of HD Space as you need virtual memory. 'MagicMemory' gives you memory,
without expecting other hardware in exchange. At least not very much.
BUGS: 'MagicMemory' (tm) might crash if it can't get sufficient ressources.
This can be avoided, if you call it as the first program in your startup-sequence.
Some requirements exists though, you need:
* an Amiga(TM)
* a 680xx CPU
* an arithmic coprocessor
* a MMU
and altogether in one machine...
Ports to other CPU/OS are planned (SUCKS-OS will be released in a few days). A XPK library with the the excelent algorithm
is planned too.
Chip mem can't be emulated (yet :)
I've spent some sleepless nights to code this, so I think it's fair to demand
some money for this software:
50US$ or 60DM
This is a crippled version, it only emulates 1Meg. The full version can at least
double your memory, maybe even more. You'll also get a very detailed printed manual.
Money should be sent to:
